Well I suppose I should start with an introduction. I'm Nina. I'm 21 years old. I raise my 2 babies in a small town. A really small town. I'm a stay at home mom who has always enjoyed writing and Journaling my life. Fortunately, when you have 2 kids you NEVER run out of things to talk about. Since I had my son (Rowan), I'd put posts on instagram with long endless thoughts of how I view motherhood. Now I also have a daughter (Lydia "Liddy") and my views of motherhood continue to change and adjust with each day. Many of my friends have consistently encouraged me to start blogs or write books or submit articles. So I figure the blog is a good place to start.
My days consist of chasing Rowan (2 and half years) while Liddy (3 months) is attached to my boob (all day, every day). I never have quiet shower time. I cook and clean one handed. I recently just chopped my hair off so that I can just wake up and hit the floor running (after Rowan usually). My husband works a typical Monday thru Friday 8 to 6 job playing in the dirt (landscaping). Needless to say Saturday and Sunday are my favorite days because there are 2 extra arms to restrain my kids with.
I'm very strongly opinionated about some things. I realize this may irritate alot of people. But that's why this is my blog. So please, spare me the comments off your disapproval if you disagree with something.
I am by no means one of those mom's who spends $7 on gluten free bread or $10 for 6 Hebrews national franks. My kids will probably live to ripe old age of 110 because of all the preservatives they will eat. Yes I make Rowan eat his fruits and veggies. But I also let him eat Oscar Meyer weiners and Oreos too. Have I put root beer in his sippy cup before? I sure have. Do I let him sit in the buggy and eat a bag of chips so I can get thru the store without trying to leave him on a shelf? You betcha. Here's the deal, I'm a tired young mom. I may not do everything perfectly, but I do try to train my kids to be decent humans. Isn't that all any mom is trying to do? I Hope this new attempt of mine proves to be what I think it will be. And I hope it provides you readers with plenty of laughs, tears, and peace of mind knowing you aren't the only ones out there losing your battles to tiny 2 year old dictators. Here's to raising isoms, or whatever your kid's last name is!
-Nina.
♡♡♡ and a great job you are doing
ReplyDeleteI love this already :D just your wording on things makes me chuckle. Of course, I am not a mom. But if I was, I would imagine it would be a lot like this.
